Fire Woman

I became a fan of the band 'The Cult' because I thought that the lead singer sounded kind of like Jim Morrison. Call me crazy or not, but if in doubt, you can always play a doors song and then play a Cult song, so that you can compare their voices for yourself.

The song Fire Woman is a totally hot song. It will rock you off your seat if you have never heard it before :)

Here is the video for you to watch and to also decide for yourself if I hit the nail on the head with the voice comparison.

So Alive

The song 'So Alive' is a cool song because it sounds like a mix of New Wave and Alternative music, which then ended up reaching number three on the top 100 chart, and also topped the modern rock tracks chart for five weeks in 1989.

The band 'Love and Rockets' is from England. It was formed in 1985 by band members from the band 'Bauhaus'.

The Lyrics:

I don't know what color your eyes are, baby
But your hair is long and brown
Your legs are strong, and you're so, so long
And you don't come from this town

My head is full of magic, baby
And I can share this with you
The feel I'm on a cross again, lately
But it's nothing to do with you

I'm alive
Oh Oh, so alive
I'm alive
Oh Oh, so alive

This drug makes me crazy
Makes me see you more clearly.
Oh, baby, now I can see you.
Wish I could stop,
Switch off the clock,
Make it all happen for you.

I'm alive
Oh Oh, so alive
I'm alive
Oh Oh, so alive

OOOOH
OOOOH

Don't know what color your eyes are, baby
But your hair is long and brown
Your legs are strong, and you're so, so long
And you don't come from this town

My head is full of magic, baby
And I can share this with you
The feel I'm on top again, baby
That's got everything to do with you

I'm alive
Oh Oh, so alive
I'm alive
Oh Oh, so alive

Just Like Heaven

The song 'Just Like Heaven' was one of my favorite songs from the band 'The Cure'. It was the third song released from the album Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me, which came out in 1987.

The lead singer Robert Smith wrote this song about his future wife because of an experience he had at a sea shore with her.

'Just Like Heaven' made it to #40 on the billboard charts and was their first hit in America in 1988.

This is the lyrics to 'Just Like Heaven', so that you can sing along with the video:

"Show me, show me, show me how you do that trick
The one that makes me scream" she said
"The one that makes me laugh" she said
And threw her arms around my neck
"Show me how you do it
And I promise you I promise that
I'll run away with you
I'll run away with you"

Spinning on that dizzy edge
I kissed her face I kissed her neck
And dreamed of all the different ways I had
To make her glow
"Why are you so far away?" she said
"Oh, won't you ever know that I'm in love with you
That I'm in love with you"

You
Soft and only
You
Lost and lonely
You
Strange as angels
Dancing in the deepest oceans
Twisting in the water
You're just like a dream

Daylight licked me into shape
I must have been asleep for days
And moving lips to breathe her name
I opened up my eyes
And found myself alone alone
Alone above a raging sea
That stole the only girl I loved
And drowned her deep inside of me

You
Soft and only
You
Lost and lonely
You
Just like heaven

When Doves Cry

The song, 'When Doves Cry', is the lead single on the album,'Purple Rain'. It was Prince's first hit song in America in 1984, which topped the charts for 5 weeks.

These are the lyrics:

Dig if you will the picture
Of you and I engaged in a kiss
The sweat of your body covers me
Can you my darling
Can you picture this?

Dream if you can a courtyard
An ocean of violets in bloom
Animals strike curious poses
They feel the heat
The heat between me and you

How can you just leave me standing?
Alone in a world that's so cold? (So cold)
Maybe I'm just too demanding
Maybe I'm just like my father too bold
Maybe you're just like my mother
She's never satisfied (She's never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other?
This is what it sounds like
When doves cry

Touch if you will my stomach
Feel how it trembles inside
You've got the butterflies all tied up
Don't make me chase you
Even doves have pride

How can you just leave me standing?
Alone in a world so cold? (World so cold)
Maybe I'm just too demanding
Maybe I'm just like my father too bold
Maybe you're just like my mother
She's never satisfied (She's never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other?
This is what it sounds like
When doves cry

How can you just leave me standing?
Alone in a world that's so cold? (A world that's so cold)
Maybe I'm just too demanding (Maybe, maybe I'm like my father)
Maybe I'm just like my father too bold (Ya know he's too bold)
Maybe you're just like my mother (Maybe you're just like my mother)
She's never satisfied (She's never, never satisfied)
Why do we scream at each other? (Why do we scream? Why?)
This is what it sounds like

When doves cry
When doves cry (Doves cry, doves cry)
When doves cry (Doves cry, doves cry)

Don't Cry (Don't Cry)

When doves cry
When doves cry
When doves cry

When Doves cry (Doves cry, doves cry, doves cry)
Don't cry
Darling don't cry
Don't cry
Don't cry

Blister In The Sun

I became a fan of Alternative Rock music back in the early 80's. When I first heard the song 'Blister in the sun', it had the right kind of quirky sound that almost made it sound like a punk pop song.

This song debuted in 1982, but was re-released in 1997 to coincide with the movie 'Grosse Point Blank'.

If you have never heard of this song, then you should definitely check it out by watching the video.

The lyrics are kind of funny and strange, but that's what makes it such a cool song to listen to.

The lyrics:

When I'm out walking
I strut my stuff
And I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite
I just might stop to check you out.

Let me go on like I
Blister in the sun
Let me go on
Big hands, I know you're the one.

Body and beats,
I stain my sheets
I don't even know why
My girlfriend, she's at the end,
She is starting to cry.

Let me go on like I
Blister in the sun
Let me go on
Big hands, I know you're the one.

When I'm out walking
I strut my stuff
And I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite
I just might stop to check you out.

When I'm out walking
I strut my stuff
And I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite
I just might stop to check you out.

Body and beats,
I stain my sheets
I don't even know why
My girlfriend, she's at the end,
She is starting to cry.

When I'm out walking
I strut my stuff
And I'm so strung out
I'm high as a kite
I just might stop to check you out.

Let me go on like I
Blister in the sun
Let me go on
Big hands, I know you're the one.

And now for the video:
